Fly on to victory with the Shovelhelm at your side!
When you find yourself caught in a whirlwind of chaos, which winged companion do you turn to get you out of a tight spot? While there are already so many to choose from, Astrid and Stormfly recently found themselves turning to School of Dragons' newest resident dragon - the SHOVELHELM! With the upturned shape of its jaw and the lighthearted glint of its eyes, the Shovelhelm can be the friendliest of dragons around - and possibly the most reliable.
And, that’s exactly what the brightest member of the Hofferson clan had in mind when she and Stormfly found themselves watching the training grounds be overrun by both Vikings and dragons too busy preparing for the upcoming clan tournament to care about their path of destruction. Just about ready to call the attention of her fellow trainers with a strength that only she could wield, Astrid realized that things were not as bad as it seemed. And this was all thanks to a single dragon repairing damaged parts of the training grounds, piece by piece as if it were repairing its own home and settling into a new nest.
Surprised to see that the efforts of this dragon alone was the driving force behind ensuring that the village ran smoothly, Astrid and Stormfly became thoroughly impressed by how the Shovelhelm used its strong head to hammer in some planks for a damaged rooftop. Satisfied with the temporary fix, the dragon was already on its way to help fix a broken wagon that was just a few feet away. While others ignored this lone dragon, Astrid confronted the wild creature letting it know that it was safe on school grounds and that it’s continued efforts were welcomed by all. The dragon immediately bonded with her, and allowed her to ride it through the skies. And it was on this first trip that it took Astrid to a nest of eggs that need raising.
Astrid acted quick and assured the dragon that its eggs would be safe with the trainers on campus and the two of them, with the help of Stormfly, flew the eggs over to Johann’s Trading Post. And now, it’s on those very store shelves that you can get your own Shovelhelm!
Beware the Enchanting Melody of the Slithersong
Vikings across campus have already become well acquainted with the Death Song's call, but do you think you have the strength to avoid falling prey to the alluring chant of the mighty SLITHERSONG? Trader Johann certainly did on his most recent expedition! While sailing during the night, he found himself drawn to the mist covered waters of the shipwreck graveyard; when suddenly parts of his ship were cocooned in hardened amber. Just when he thought he had no defense in a seemingly swift attack, it turned out that the nearby dragon shrouded in the heavy mist was actually after the giant eels that were clamoring on the sides of his ship.
While grateful that he was not in direct danger by this eel-filled distraction, Johann was left with a new dilemma. How would he be able to get his goods to Berk now that his ship was anchored down in the dragon’s amber? And it was in that moment of distress that a rogue dragon rider swooped in with a smaller boat to help Johann escape the graveyard with at least a few of his premium-packed crates.
Looking back at the unfortunate fate of his ship as they transferred the goods, Johann couldn't help notice the odd color of the amber. He had assumed that the substance had come from a wild Death Song until he found a number of stowaway Slithersong eggs left on his ship and scattered about his goods. As they carried the items over to the rogue dragon rider’s vessel, it had becomes clear that the wild dragon had just been hastily defending his ship which had been carrying eggs to campus.
And now, you can head over to the Trading Post for a chance to try your hand at training the Slithersong! Extremely solitary like its equally dangerous kin the Death Song, this Mystery Class dragon boasts fantastic firepower and racing speed worthy to become one of a dragon trainer's biggest allies. Imagine the astounding evasive maneuvers you could do with the agility of the Slithersong as you past fellow Vikings, or smashing through the hull of an invading ship while you team up with your fellow clan members. Timberjacks & Night Terrors Swarm Campus on Snoggletog
The festive season of Snoggletog has brought a number of memorable additions to School of Dragons, but Hiccup and the Headmaster have really outdone themselves with a double dragon release, unveiling the highly anticipated TIMBERJACK and pack-friendly NIGHT TERRORS. Which will you be flying into 2016 with – the wide-winged sharp class companion or the more pint-sized stoker dragon?
While commonly known to navigate the skies as the Taxi dragon on campus, the Timberjack is better acknowledged in the wild for lurking through the forests. With its long, slender build, this dragon can move quickly and suddenly, but those who have seen it in action often tell tales of its ability to cut through obstacles like heavily forested areas of large trees with just one swift wing movement. Previously, most Vikings believed this dragon to be extremely dangerous, but if you dare to bond with your own by picking up an egg at Johann’s Trading Post, you just might tell a different story of this loyal sharp class confidant.
Although, a dragon of that size is not for the faint of heart, so if you’re not quite ready for a Timberjack, maybe a pack of Night Terrors is in your near future instead. Just don’t be fooled by their small size! When flying together, the strength and intelligence of a Night Terror swarm is a force to be reckoned with whether you are a seasoned trainer or new to campus. After all, where do you think they get that terrifyingly fitting name?
Start the New Year with a new dragon and pick up these recent egg additions to Johann’s Trading Post today!

The Thunderpede is Shaking Things up with its Pulverizing Strength!
Vikings! Alert your fellow Dragon Trainers - Thunderpedes are scurrying their way into School Of Dragons. Think you have what it takes to tame these 10-limbed companions? Soaring steadily, albeit at sluggish speeds, with its 2 small taught wings, this Boulder Class Bruiser certainly stands out from the rest with its 6 quick-moving legs and two muscular forearms. Just one look at this disruptive dragon, and there’s no denying that this dragon is simply made for destruction! After all, what would a Boulder Class dragon be without its ability to smash through rocks with an earth-rattling strength?
And for this latest dragon delivery, you can thank Fishlegs, who knows quite a bit about Boulder Class dragons from years of training with Meatlug. It was during one of their many outings to explore the various rock types around campus that they stumbled upon a Thunderpede and its large nest of dragon eggs. The duo had embarked on a quest to see if Meatlug’s fire blasts changed depending on the type of rocks he crushed up and ate. As they collected rocks from all over campus they noticed an unusual abundance near the shores of the Training Grounds. Fishlegs thought this was odd but was too excited to begin his experiment to put too much thought in it. That is until the ground below him began to shake and off in the distance behind some rocks, he saw some sparks rising, He trembled slightly and thought to himself, “hmm… what could it be?“ and after mustering up all his courage he flew over, riding Meatlug.
They approached with caution and to their surprise were met by a THUNDERPEDE on the other side of the rocky coastline. The Thunderpede had been smashing boulders to build something. Fishlegs surveyed the area and it hit him “She’s crushing these boulders to build some protection around her nest!” he said to Meatlug. Wanting to learn more about this elusive Dragon, Fishlegs was determined to bring it back to campus and make sure the eggs were properly cared for.
As Fishlegs tried to get close, the Thunderpede began flailing its immense forearms and shooting fireballs! After successfully maneuvering Meatlug and himself, Fishlegs used the knowledge he had of Boulder Class dragons to charm the dragon and gain its trust. The Thunderpede itself was already impressed by the clear bond between Fishlegs and Meatlug shared as they circled around it. And at that point, Fishlegs knew he couldn’t leave all these eggs unguarded, so he decided to help get the eggs out of this secluded and rocky area and to the shelves of Trader Johann’s store, where they would end up with trusted dragon trainers like his friend Astrid, who took a quick liking to the Thunderpede. He gathered the troops back at campus and got his friends to help airlift the eggs to the store. As for the Thunderpede, he made room for it in his stables and began training in the ways of the Vikings at School of Dragons!
And now you can do the same, by getting your very own Thunderpede egg now at Johann’s Trading Post as these Boulder Class companions begin shaking things up on campus. Go there now to get yours!
